A note to students and parents:

 

 

If this page is not updated the night you have homework, it will not serve as an excuse for a missing assignment. Homework assignments are verbally announced in class and written on the homework assignment board. While I do my best to update this page daily, there are times where I will forget. If you do not see an assignment or "No Homework" written under today's date on this page, it is highly recommended that you check your assignment notebook or with your friends to see if there was homework. No excuses will be accepted because this page was not updated.

 

 

Welcome to 2nd Quarter!

 

Montag, den 9. November

We are now on Chapter 5 in the text Zickzack neu 2.  Students were given a vocabulary list for the chapter quizzes.  The first Quiz is on Wed. of this week (Nov. 11).  The quiz consists of the first 12 items on the vocab list (3 across and 4 down).  On all quizzes from now on, students must give the correct "der, die, das" of all nouns and also the plural form. 

Homework tonight is to write a description (hair and eye color) for 5 people.  Students should use their notes and textbooks to help them write the descriptions correctly.

 

Dienstag, den 10. November

There is a vocab quiz tomorrow.  It consists of the first 12 words on the vocabulary sheet (3 across and 4 down).  7th period students also have to create two faces and write a description for each one.  The 2nd period students will do this assignment tomorrow in class.

 

Montag, den 16. November

There is a vocab quiz tomorrow - Quiz #2.  The students have the vocab sheet.  It is the second set of 12 words.  Make sure you know the "der, die, das" and the plural of all nouns.

Tonight's homework is to write a description for 6 of the people on the handout.  I specified 4 that must be done and you can choose the other two (1 extra man and 1 extra woman).  Please use your resources.  This will be graded.

 

Dienstag, den 17. November

Complete the worksheet "Beschreibungen".  Please use your resources to make sure you do this correctly.  Please check to make sure you have the correct adjective endings.

Mittwoch, den 18. November

In the bbok on page 46 match the descriptions to the people.  On page 52 complete "So ein Durcheinander" - match the descriptions to the people.

The next vocab quiz is Quiz #3 on Friday 11/20.

 

Donnerstag, den 19. November

Complete the sheet of clothing vocabulary on which you need to write the noun with its article and the plural form.  Make sure you have your LOTTO vocab sheet tomorrow with you in class.

Over Thanksgiving break use the other clothing sheet to make a MEMORY game.  Cut out the 12 pictures and the 12 words.  Paste them on paper the same size and same color.  ALL the backs of the cards MUST look the same.  Play MEMORY over the break to learn the clothing words.  Be sure to ALWAYS say the "der, die, das" and the plural.

There is vocab quiz #3 tomorrow (the third set of words from the vocab sheet).  Make sure you know the article and the plural form.

 

Freitag, den 20. November

There is no written homework over the break, however students need to make their MEMORY game and should be playing this game at least once a day so that they can learn the vocabulary for the next section of Chapter 5.

 

Montag, den 30. November

Describe the 16 people on page 47 in the text book.  Include hair characteristics (long, short, curly, wavy, straight) and color and eye color.  Also tell if they are wearing glasses.

Instructions were handed out today for the "Clothing Doll" project.  Paper will be handed out in class tomorrow.  The clothing doll is due on Wednesday, Dec. 9th

 

Dienstag, den 1. Dezember

In class today we discussed subjects and directs objets.  For homework write 5 somewhat lengthy sentences in ENGLISH that contain direct objects.  Then underline the subject and the direct object.

 

Mittwoch, den 2. Dezember

In the book on page 48 read the ten sentences and write down the subject(s) and direct object(s) for each sentence.  Use you notes from class to help you determine the direct objects.

Complete the worksheet on Nominative and Accusative.  Read the directions and follow them!

Complete the adjective ending worksheet that we startd in class.  Make note:  here are 2 sides! Use your class notes to make sure you are using the correct endings.

Dienstag, den 8. Dezember

Do the math on the page, then color in the picture according to the key at the bottom.  On the back-side write German sentences describing everything about the person that you colored.  Use your notes to mak sure you are using the correct adjective endings. You must put the adjectives before the nouns.

Complete the worksheet on "er/sie", "sein/ihr"

 

Donnerstag, den 10. Dezember

Complete the two-sided worksheet on adjective endings.  It looks similar to a past worksheet, but it is different version.  Use your class notes and make sure you know the correct gender for each noun before you begin.

 

Montag, den 14. Dezember

Complete the worksheet "Wie findest du...?/Was hältst du von...?  Use your book and try to incorporate  as many new vocabulary words as possible.

The written test for Kapitel 5 is on Wednesday (Dec. 16th) and the listening test for Kapitel 5 is on Thursday (Dec. 17th)
